Smoothies & Juices, Recipes

Recipe: Kingsday Smoothie

Once a year we celebrate the birthday of our King, it’s this Wednesday! That means that we’ll dress up in orange outfits (our national color), go out to visit lots of flea markets, play games on the street or just go out and have drink, dance and hang out with friends. I’ll be doing that last thing, so I’ll need a big and healthy breakfast so I can go all day! This is the first thing I’ll eat/drink this Wednesday (after that I’ll probably make this orangy Carrot Mug Cake and I’m going to have lunch with friends). And as it should be, it’s orange!

What you need:

  • 1 cup of cubed carrots, cooked for 5 minutes
  • 1/2 cup mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • Juice from 3 oranges
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • Pomegranate seeds

What you do:

  1. Put everything in a blender and blend until you’ve got a smooth mixture.
  2. Check if you like the thickness. If it’s still to thick, just add a bit of water and blend again, until you’re happy with it!
  3. Put the smoothie in a glass and top it with pomegranate seeds.
