Utah: Bryce Canyon


After driving from our campground at Grand Canyon to a new campground near Bryce Canyon, we took a trolley to the canyon itself. We’ve spent the afternoon walking along the rim of the canyon and enjoying the amazing view from Bryce Point. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Bryce Canyon National park isn’t actually a canyon, but a giant natural amphitheater. distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. It’s a beautiful place with all the orange, green and bright blue colors!

The next day we went back with the trolley, but this time to Inspiration Point, from where we did a short trail through the amphitheater itself, to see Thor’s Hammer and walk through the many other hoodoos. Such a magical place. See for yourself:
