DIY: Painted planters.

Painting planters was on my to-do list for a long time. My Pinterest DIY board was full of it. So finally I found the time to go to the gardening center and buy some terracotta planters (they don’t cost a thing). I also bought some cacti and succulents to put in them.
When I was back home I took my paint and brushes and started working. I first put a white layer on all of them, because it would be a better base for the colors I wanted to use. When that completely dried up, I started on the designs.

I didn’t want to make everything really straight and tape everything for straight lines, so I freehanded everything and I really like the results. I used acryl and gouache paint, I only use the planters inside, so I didn’t have the weather in mind while painting these.

the dark blue planter with constallations has our zodiac signs on them. Aquarius for Wouter and Zoey, Libra for myself and Lupus for Pip.

Most of the planters already found a new home, because when people like them, they can bring one home with them. I also made a couple for Caroline, my mother and sister in law.
