Hotspot: Gys, Utrecht

When we had our foodtour in Utrecht, we wanted to have a burger for lunch at Meneer Smakers, but as we later found out, it opens it’s doors at 4 pm. We decided to have an early dinner there in stead of lunch. Our stomachs were rumbling, so we had to eat something else to pass the time. Chantal from FeelGoodByFood took us to Gys, this super cute restaurant for a cup of tea and something to snack on.
I immediately fell in love with the interior. They have my favorite color on the walls, super cute terrariums in light bulbs (I want to make that!) and recycled furniture.
It perfectly fits with their menu. It’s filled with organic yumminess and lots of it is vegetarian, or even vegan. Charlie from Charlie’s Kitchen and I decided to share a banana brownie with walnuts and coconuts. It was heavenly. Chantal and Michelle (from Studentenvoer) had an oatmeal cookie.
The rest of the menu looked very good too, so we definitely have to come back for lunch or dinner. We sure need something like this in my hometown, since places like this, where you can get an affordable healthy and organic meal, is hard to find.
